Dr Ibrahim Abdalla

Department
Engineering

Dr. Abdalla obtained his first degree in Mechanical Engineering at Khartoum University, Sudan and a M.Sc. in Thermo-fluids from Nairobi University, Kenya. After a couple of years working both in academia and as a mechanical engineer in the industrial sector in Dubai he joined the Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering Department at Loughborough University, where he obtained his Ph.D. on turbulence modeling using the large-eddy simulation method.

Immediately after graduation, he joined a research centre at Queens University Belfast as a research visitor before taking the post of a research fellow at the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development at DeMontfort University in 2004. In 2007, he joined the Department of Engineering and Technology- Faculty of Commuting Sciences and Engineering as senior lecturer.
