Qualifications: M.Sc Audiology, Doctorate of Science, Cert of Speech-reading, RHAD Member of CMI, BSHAA; Honorary life member of BAA

Research Interests

  • Cognition and hearing loss.
  • Adult hearing rehabilitation.
  • Professional Standards in Audiology Health care.
  • Worked in the Health Service as a Consultant Clinical Scientist [Audiology] and as Head of one of the largest audiology Services in the U.K for many years prior to joining DMU; continues to work in private practice.
  • Presented with the Ruth Spencer Award by the British Society of Audiology for developing the first training manual for health care audiologists.
  • Awarded Life Honorary membership of the British Academy of Audiology for contributions to audiology education.
  • Taken principal lead in the introduction of Foundation Degree for Hearing Aid Audiologist working in the Independent Sector of health care, on behalf of the Hearing Aid Council.
